Tiger Sprint

Talent Knack: Tiger Sprint
LP Cost: 800 (300 if a Discipline talent)
Talent: Tiger Spring
Rank: 5
Action: Simple
Strain: 3

When using the Tiger Spring talent, the adept may also choose to use the Tiger Sprint knack to launch himself forward with furious speed, gaining an extra two points of standard movement for the round. Because of the physical exertion required for this, the adept must take another three points of strain in addition to the one taken for Tiger Spring. Tiger Sprint cannot be used during the same round as other movement enhancing talents, such as Great Leap, or Gliding Stride. The bonus to Movement Rate is not doubled when using the Running combat option.

Grom, an Ork Warrior Adept and his friends are fighting a group of bandits in a dungeon. The battle is going well when he sees the leader of the bandits begin to flee. Grom knows he must beat the bandit leader to the exit and block his escape or they may never catch him. To get there in the next round he needs to move 14 hexes. His standard move is 6, and a double move is 12, two short of his goal. Grom takes on a whopping 4 points of total strain in order to Tiger Spring gaining a bonus to his initiative and Tiger Sprint to gain an additional two points of standard movement. His standard movement is now bumped to 8, giving him a total 14 hexes of movement while running. He then furiously sprints ahead, and blocks the exit, cutting off the bandit leader’s escape.
