Campaign of the Month: September 2013
Step: Rank + CHA
Engaging Dance allows the adept to direct his opponent’s movements by taking the lead in a choreographed combat. The adept makes an Engaging Dance Test, comparing the result against the Social Defense of both his opponent and any onlookers. If the test is successful against the opponent, he has to match his moment to the adept’s for Engaging Dance Rank rounds, effectively allowing the adept to control the opponent’s movement in a way that keeps the opponent adjacent to him. If the opponent does not match his movement, he trips and is Knocked Down, although Engaging Dance ends. The adept must not move in a way that would prohibit the opponent from following, though, for example by moving faster than the opponent can. Onlookers against whom the test is successful cannot interfere with the ‘dancing’ opponents by attacking them or using other abilities against them specifically, those against whom the test is not successful may, but this ends the talent’s effects immediately. The adept may only be engaged in a dance with one opponent at a time.
